Nanophotometer Technical details

The NanoPhotometer™ is designed to provide the utmost flexibility in spectrophotometry and meets the needs of photometric applications in molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology.

This outstanding technology combines ultra-low and standard volume applications for improved concentration measurement and estimation of purity in one UV-visible spectrophotometer. Its fully developed software provides more convenience with pre-programmed methods, for Nucleic Acids, Proteins, and Cell Densities and a selection of pre-defined features for general photometric functions helps with self-programming to create new methods for future requirements.

The configured methods can be saved in nine empty folders (nine methods per folder) under User Methods. The method folder names are editable to allow self-organisation.

Various photometric functions, such as single- and multi-wavelength measurement combined with kinetic methods, opens up a wide range applications. The full wavelength scan (190 nm – 1100 nm) allows curve interpretation for attainment of more detailed scientific knowledge over whole spectrum.

    Direct output to PC

    • The standard USB interface allows direct data download via the NanoPhotometer™ software to PC for spreadsheet calculations, computer printout, and data storage in most common formats (e.g. Excel file, EMF graphics file, comma delimited (csv) data file, tab delimited (txt) data files).
      This tool is ideal for storage and archiving of results for project purposes and data printing via a computer.

    Output to printer

      The NanoPhotometer™ offers an internal printer as an optional accessory.
      The space-saving built-in printer operates with thermal high stability paper and provides sample data printout in 40 columns, and 56mm width.

    Bluetooth

      The Bluetooth wireless link module enables direct connection to any computer devices of choice without the need of any cable. It is available as an optional accessory.
      The Bluetooth Setup Wizard assists setting up direct computer connection.

  • Advanced Technology
    • The NanoPhotometer™ spectrophotometer is a simple-to-use instrument. It is the perfect combination of highest qualities to cover all spectrophotometric applications in molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology.

      The CCD array detector (1024 pixels) and the pulsed xenon lamp guarantee the most accurate measurements. The spectrophotometer has no moving parts, which is the basis of the rapid scanning system within the wavelength range between 190 nm and 1100 nm.

  • The back-lit liquid crystal display is very easy to navigate with alphanumeric entry and navigation keys on the hard wearing, spill proof keypad.

 

NanoPhotometer™ Applications include:

  • Nucleic acids analysis: dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, and Oligonucleotides
  • Labeling: dye incorporation efficiency rates for microarray experiments
  • Protein Quantitation: Bradford, Lowry, BCA, Biuret, and UV Protein (A280)
  • Cell density: for microbiology and cell cultures.
